Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living with dignity and compassion
- Support nursing staff by monitoring resident condition and reporting changes promptly
- Provide safe, respectful personal care, including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Document care provided accurately and timely to maintain continuity
- Engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities to promote well-being
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and team members
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or equivalent (required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and residents with complex needs
- Background check and health screening (immunizations) required
- Reliable, compassionate, and a strong team player
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); completion of an accredited GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approach
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, documentation, ADL assistance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle physically active role with safe body mechanics
- Positive attitude, patience, and respect for resident dignity
