Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Evening shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
Support residents with mobility and safe transfers while promoting independence
Monitor and document vital signs and changes in condition accurately
Assist the care team with mealtime, feeding, and nutrition support
Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and nursing staff to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
Recent experience in long-term care or eldercare preferred
Current CPR/BLS certification required or must obtain promptly
Valid state-required immunizations and ability to pass background checks
Strong communication skills, patience, and a team-oriented mindset

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
Good documentation habits and basic computer/EHR familiarity
Strong interpersonal skills and empathy when working with older adults
Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to the clinical team
