Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for orthopedic surgery patients
• Perform thorough pre-operative and post-operative assessments to optimize outcomes
• Monitor vitals, pain levels, and wound status and intervene promptly when needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on recovery plans, mobility, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care clearly and timely to support continuity and quality metrics

Qualifications

• Current RN license (required) — must be eligible to practice in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience; orthopedic surgery experience preferred
• Comfortable working full shifts in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to fulfill travel assignment requirements and maintain required credentials

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in orthopedic postoperative care and mobility management
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in pain management and wound care principles
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and triage in a surgical unit
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient-centered education skills
• Teamwork, adaptability, and clear clinical documentation
