Shift Type: Variable 4x10 day/evening schedule: 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM or 11:00 AM - 09:00 PM (day/evening); call required: 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks (call only); 20-minute callback expectation

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist for a broad mix of surgical cases across perioperative specialties including orthopedics, neuro, general, vascular, ENT, plastics and OB/C-sections
- Prepare, maintain, and manage sterile fields using excellent aseptic and scrub technique
- Anticipate surgeon needs by providing appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment handling during procedures
- Collaborate with the OR team to ensure patient safety and adherence to Universal Protocol (time-out) and isolation precautions
- Support robotic-assisted cases (Da Vinci Xi, Mako) and assist with setup/sterile instrumentation as needed
- Accurately document intraoperative events and chart using Epic (preferred) or facility charting practices
- Respond within the 20-minute callback window when on call and provide timely clinical support
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year OR scrub experience required
- Travel experience required — no first-time travelers
- NBSTSA (listed as a primary skill) or equivalent perioperative credential preferred
- BLS required or preferred depending on facility; CST is preferred
- Demonstrated on-call competency and ability to meet callback expectations
- Experience with Epic charting is preferred
- Comfortable working a 1:1 patient ratio when required
- Familiarity with sterile processing, aseptic technique, and equipment care
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong scrub technique and aseptic technique
- Sterile processing knowledge and instrument reprocessing indicators
- Experience with robotics (Da Vinci Xi) and Mako Surgical System
- Familiarity with vascular, neuro, orthopedic and general surgical procedures
- Proficient in equipment/instrumentation handling and case cart setup
- Ability to follow Universal Protocol (time-out), specimen handling/labeling, and isolation precautions
- Comfortable in a Level III Trauma Center environment and with trauma cases
- Epic charting familiarity and solid documentation skills
