Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality direct nursing care to residents in the Bear Canyon Rehab Center
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Perform thorough assessments and document patient responses and progress
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents and their families
- Support resident mobility, activities of daily living, and promote dignity
- Respond promptly to clinical changes and escalate concerns when needed
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico or eligible to obtain one
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications a plus
- Comfortable with medication administration, wound care basics, and resident assessments
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or similar clinical setting preferred
Education
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent vocational training
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational nursing knowledge including medication administration and vital signs
- Ability to perform focused assessments and document accurately
- Familiarity with electronic charting and basic computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and compassion for older adults and rehab patients
- Time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
