Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Day shift; aligned with the school calendar, weekdays only)

Hours per Week: 37.5

Candidate Pay Rate: $75 - $52.5 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for students to identify needs and strengths
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
• Provide direct therapy services focused on mobility, balance, strength, coordination and functional access
• Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology and environmental modifications to improve participation
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district, state and federal guidelines
• Educate school staff and caregivers on safe mobility, positioning and transfer techniques to promote independence

Qualifications

• Active New Mexico Physical Therapist license (required)
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
• Pediatric or school-based experience preferred
• Strong organizational, communication and caseload management skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, special education staff and families

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of IEP development and how PT supports educational goals
• Skilled in pediatric mobility, positioning, transfers and assistive technology
• Strong documentation practices compliant with school, state and federal standards
• Effective communicator who can train staff and collaborate across disciplines
• Caseload prioritization and time management in a school-based setting
• Ability to recommend and fit adaptive equipment and environmental modifications
