Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, direct patient care to the medical unit population
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor, assess and document patient status and progress clearly
- Collaborate with nurses, providers and custody staff to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate medical records and follow facility protocols
- Support a safe, secure environment appropriate for a correctional healthcare setting
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to keep skills sharp
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license — California required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working in a correctional healthcare environment or similar medical setting
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills and ability to work independently
- Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Education
- Vocational Nursing diploma, certificate or equivalent completed
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and basic nursing care
- Medication administration and documentation
- Wound care and IV site observation fundamentals
- Electronic medical record charting and care planning
- Infection control practices and standard precautions
- Ability to follow protocols in a secure facility environment
