Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care during the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM shift
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the resident chart
- Monitor resident condition, report changes promptly, and collaborate with the nursing team
- Perform routine assessments, dressing changes, and wound care as needed
- Support safe transfers, ADLs, and fall-prevention practices overnight
- Communicate clearly with families and interdisciplinary staff to ensure continuity of care
- Contribute to a positive, respectful environment that promotes resident dignity
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts LPN license required (RN candidates may also be considered depending on facility need)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or able to obtain
- Experience in long-term care, rehab, or skilled nursing is a plus
- Strong clinical judgment, dependable night-shift work ethic, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to pass background checks and required facility onboarding
Education
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
- Basic wound care and infection control principles
- Ability to assess overnight resident needs and escalate appropriately
- Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
- Teamwork, empathy, and clear communication with residents and staff
