Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents on the night shift
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Perform skilled nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and routine assessments
• Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members and incoming day staff
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and comfort
• Contribute to a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in Massachusetts (required)
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehab preferred
• Comfortable working independently during night shifts and collaborating with off-shift teams
• Strong communication, organization, and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required screenings

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Basic wound care and infection control procedures
• Patient assessment and monitoring overnight
• Charting in electronic or paper medical records with attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clinical tasks during a shift
• Teamwork, empathy, and strong bedside manner with older adults
