Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer medications accurately and safely using BCMA and follow standardized documentation practices
• Continuously monitor cardiovascular patients using GE Carescape monitoring and Fuji ultrasound as needed
• Start large-bore IVs and assist with arterial, central line, and epidural procedures to support surgical readiness
• Prepare and safely transport patients to the OR, assisting with positioning, skin prep, and induction/intubation support
• Maintain clear, timely, and thorough documentation in Cerner to support continuity of care
• Perform focused skin assessments and preoperative checks to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Collaborate proactively with the CVOR team, CNCs, and support staff to coordinate high-acuity patient care
• Provide compassionate, one-to-one care in a 1:1 patient ratio setting, advocating for patient needs and comfort

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) — ready to practice in the assignment location
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with critical care experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (must have before start)
• Experience with BCMA and strong documentation skills (Cerner experience a big plus)
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong critical thinking and excellent communication skills with interdisciplinary teams
• PreOp and CV/OR experience preferred; familiarity assisting with intubation/induction is advantageous

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration best practices and safety checks
• Patient monitoring and interpretation of cardiovascular parameters
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic documentation
• Use of GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound basics
• Large-bore IV starts and assisting with arterial/central line placements
• Airway support, induction/intubation assistance, and safe patient transport to OR
• Ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings and provide one-to-one care
