Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care on a 20-bed Med-Surg unit using evidence-based practice
• Perform wound and dressing care for post-op burn and flap patients with attention to detail and infection prevention
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize Meditech EMR to document assessments, treatments, and patient progress accurately
• Advocate for patients and families, educating them about care plans and recovery expectations
• Maintain patient safety by using appropriate equipment such as hoyer lifts and wound vacs
• Participate in shift handoffs and communicate clear, concise patient updates

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or compact-state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; Med-Surg experience required
• Demonstrated experience with wound care and burn care is a strong plus
• BLS certification required; ACLS or other advanced certifications preferred when applicable
• Comfortable using Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Team-player attitude with strong communication and bedside skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN license and required state certifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med-Surg clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills
• Wound care techniques and familiarity with wound vac systems
• Safe patient handling experience, including hoyer lift usage
• Competence with Meditech electronic medical records
• Ability to manage multiple patients effectively in a 6:1 ratio setting with LPN support
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills
