Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform complete transthoracic echocardiograms independently and with confidence
• Deliver a high volume of primarily portable studies (unit reports ~75-80/day) with accuracy and care
• Operate and troubleshoot Philips IE33 and Epiq CVX equipment to capture diagnostic-quality images
• Document studies thoroughly in Meditech and maintain precise patient records
• Float between departments as needed, providing adaptable, team-first support
• Communicate findings and patient status clearly to cardiology teams and support staff
• Adhere to unit policies, dress code, and infection-control standards to keep patients safe

Qualifications

• Active RCS or RDCS certification required (ARDMS required)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2+ years of hospital echocardiography experience
• Proven ability to complete echocardiograms independently and manage a high-volume caseload
• Comfortable performing portable echocardiography and floating between units
• Meditech experience preferred; TEE, Stress Echoes, and Vascular experience a strong plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and disease processes
• Skilled in transthoracic and portable echocardiography techniques
• Experience with Philips IE33 and Epiq CVX ultrasound systems
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and clinical workflows
• Excellent patient communication, triage judgment, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy hospital environment and manage time effectively
