Roles & Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process within the Oregon RN scope of practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department
- Provide compassionate patient and family education to promote understanding and support recovery
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Deliver acute care interventions in a fast-paced ED environment, prioritizing patient safety and clinical excellence
- Contribute to a positive team culture by communicating effectively and participating in unit-based problem solving
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in Oregon (license does not need to be active at time of submission but candidate must be willing to obtain)
- Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 2 years — required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience — required
- ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) and TNCC — required (certifications do not need to be active at submission but candidate must be willing to obtain)
- Strong clinical judgment, ability to triage and manage multiple patients in a high-acuity setting
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team

- Nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
- Patient education techniques and family-centered communication
- Thorough documentation and electronic medical record proficiency
