Shift Type: Rotating shifts (days vary by schedule) — Morning and night coverage. Available shift times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Rotating (mornings and nights).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients at Berkshire Medical Center and North Adams Hospital
• Float between facilities as needed to support coverage and maintain continuity of care
• Coordinate and monitor ED radio communications with EMS and ambulance services
• Collaborate closely with APPs and hospitalists to ensure smooth admissions and transitions
• Respond to on-call requests within the facility’s required 30-minute response time
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR system
• Contribute to a safe, team-based environment in a busy, high-volume emergency department

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (required)
• Active Massachusetts medical license (preferred/required; MA-licensed providers prioritized)
• Clinical experience in an emergency department environment; trauma level 3 experience a plus
• Willingness to work morning and night shifts and to float between facilities
• Proven ability to collaborate with APPs, hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills for ED radio coordination and interdepartmental handoffs

Education

• MD or DO (Emergency Medicine residency-trained preferred)
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech EMR and thorough documentation practices
• Skilled in triage, stabilization, and acute management in a busy ED setting
• Comfortable managing a wide variety of presentations in a 32-bed, high-volume ED
• Experienced coordinating with EMS, hospitalists, and APPs for admissions and transfers
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative care team
