Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry continuously to identify and respond to cardiac changes
• Provide expert cardiac management and bedside care for step-down and telemetry patients
• Perform focused assessments and develop individualized nursing plans that improve patient outcomes
• Administer and titrate therapies (including hi-flow, BiPAP) and manage IV and Kangaroo pumps safely
• Support and assist with unit procedures such as thoracentesis, tracheostomy care, pacemaker care, and post-cath care when radial access is used
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Meditech Expanse to ensure clear, compliant records
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, provide patient/family education, and facilitate smooth handoffs
• Adhere to unit policies and participate in bedside shift rounds to enhance patient experience and continuity

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in New Hampshire)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience, with proficiency in telemetry care
• Current BLS and ASLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac management and telemetry monitoring
• Comfort with high-acuity skills such as chest tube management, pacemaker care, CIWA, and tracheostomy care (preferred)
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or other electronic documentation systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Cardiac step-down / med-surg telemetry nursing practices
• Experience with hi-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and advanced respiratory support
• Competence with IV pumps, Kangaroo enteral pumps, and related equipment
• Ability to support procedures performed on unit: thoracentesis, PD, pacemaker monitoring
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Clear communication and effective interdisciplinary collaboration
• Accurate, timely documentation and familiarity with Meditech Expanse
