Roles & Responsibilities

• Set up and manage ventilators for patients from neonate through adult with precision and care
• Deliver high-flow therapy, nebulizer treatments, Nitric Oxide and Flolan therapy safely
• Provide noninvasive support including BiPAP and Bubble CPAP and monitor effectiveness
• Perform and interpret EKGs and assist critical care teams in ER/CCU and NICU situations
• Respond to emergent respiratory needs across units — be the calm, skilled presence on the floor
• Document treatments and patient responses clearly to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement and unit initiatives to continually raise the bar

Qualifications

• CRT or RRT required (credentialed respiratory therapist)
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience with ventilator management and bedside care
• Experience across ER/CCU and NICU or Level 2 settings preferred — neonate through adult care
• Ability to meet Alaska facility requirements and obtain any necessary state licensure

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate's or higher preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and ventilator set-up (neonate through adult)
• High Flow therapy and Neonatal Hi Flow experience
• Nebulizer treatments and airway management
• Nitric Oxide and Flolan therapy administration
• BiPAP, Bubble CPAP management and non-invasive ventilation
• Ability to perform and interpret EKGs
• Comfort working across ER/CCU/NICU and floating to cover all units
• Strong critical thinking, patient assessment and communication skills
