Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and prioritize patients using ESI guidelines to ensure timely, high-quality care
• Perform IV insertion, medication administration and EKG acquisition with precision
• Assist with intubation, rapid sequence intubation and code responses to support critical patients
• Provide moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion while monitoring patient safety
• Deliver trauma, STEMI, stroke and sepsis care following unit protocols and best practices
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech and perform timely reassessments
• Coordinate transport and transfer preparations for patients needing higher levels of care
• Adhere to isolation and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting
• Current required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, CPI
• Strong triage and critical thinking skills with proven ED assessment ability
• Comfortable performing advanced ED procedures and participating in code responses
• Team-oriented, punctual, reliable and compassionate with excellent patient-centered care
• Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• ESI triage and prioritization
• Trauma care and cardiac alert/STEMI workflows
• Stroke and sepsis recognition and management
• IV therapy, medication administration and EKG interpretation
• Assisting with intubation, RSI and advanced airway support
• CPR and high-acuity code response
• Moderate sedation procedures
• Infection control and isolation protocols
• Accurate clinical documentation in Meditech
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
