Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid triage and clinical assessments for a diverse emergency department patient population
• Manage high-acuity patients with focused monitoring, including ICP monitoring when indicated
• Deliver timely emergency interventions and advanced cardiac life support as needed
• Document thoroughly and accurately using Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — respiratory therapy, radiology, PT, social services and pharmacy — to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and discharge instructions in a clear, compassionate way
• Maintain professional certification and participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of California (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLA, NIH, PALS, TNCC (these are mandatory at submission)
• BLS and NIHSS familiarity preferred
• Comfort and experience with 12-hour shifts and 1:4 patient ratios
• Locals not accepted — position is for travel/contract nurses
• RTO restrictions must be included at time of submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage skills and emergency assessment techniques
• Experience with ICP monitoring and neurological observation
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting
• Pediatric and adult emergency care competence (neonates through geriatrics seen on unit)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced ED with 1:4 ratios
• Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary departments
