Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI exams independently on Siemens equipment, following exam protocols
- Prepare and administer contrast media safely and per institutional policies
- Start peripheral IVs when required for contrast administration
- Operate and document exams in EPIC to maintain accurate patient records
- Manage a typical caseload of 6-9 exams per day while prioritizing patient comfort and safety
- Collaborate with the onsite assistant and interdisciplinary team for smooth patient flow
- Adhere to radiation safety practices and isolation precautions at all times
- Provide clear patient education and support, including safe transport coordination
Qualifications
- ARRT MR certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Washington state license required or pending accepted
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience, with demonstrated experience on Siemens systems
- Comfortable working independently during weekend shifts
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Able to handle 6-9 exams per day and prioritize workload effectively
Education
- ARRT MR certification (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Washington state MRI technologist license (required or eligible/pending accepted)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Siemens MRI platforms (facility uses Siemens Magnetom Aera/Magnatum)
- MR cardiac, MRA, and breast MRI skills are a plus
- Contrast media preparation and administration
- Peripheral IV insertion
- Radiation safety and infection isolation precautions
- Patient transport and bedside assistance coordination
- Strong documentation skills in EPIC and clinical communication
