Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote dignity and independence
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor residents and accurately document observations, vital signs, and care given
• Communicate clearly with nurses, interdisciplinary team members, and families about resident needs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in shift handoffs and care planning to ensure continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (as indicated in the job class)
• Completion of a recognized GNA training program or equivalent
• CPR/BCLS certification preferred
• Comfort with physical aspects of resident care and safe lifting practices
• Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
• Friendly, patient, and team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
• Available to work the evening (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) shift

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience or knowledge of resident care and ADLs
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Familiarity with electronic documentation or charting is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy when working with older adults
• Ability to follow care plans, routines, and facility policies
