Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and compassion
- Support safe mobility and transfers while following proper body mechanics
- Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment for residents
- Assist with meal service and ensure hydration needs are met
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
- Build meaningful relationships with residents to promote comfort and emotional well-being
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with geriatric populations and demonstrating patience and empathy
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic clinical care for older adults and common geriatric needs
- Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
