Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents, preserving dignity and independence
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting) with patience and respect
- Monitor and document residents' conditions, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe mobility and fall-prevention through proper transfer and ambulation techniques
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Participate in trainings and maintain required certifications to ensure high-quality care
Qualifications
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or senior living settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings/immunizations
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare training or coursework a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered practices
- Basic infection control and safety practices
- Competence in documentation and accurate charting
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team and follow care plans
