Location: Bowie, MD
Shift Type: Evening shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; days vary per facility schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to geriatric residents, helping with bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning to promote comfort and prevent injury
- Measure and document vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support mealtime assistance and feeding when needed, ensuring dignity and nutritional needs are met
- Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection prevention practices
- Engage residents with respectful conversation and activities that promote emotional well-being
- Accurately document care provided, observations, and any concerns in resident records
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- GNA or CNA certification (or in-state equivalent) — required or preferred per facility policy
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain promptly
- Comfortable working with geriatric residents, including those with mobility or cognitive challenges
- Ability to pass background/fingerprint checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA/CNA certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident dignity
- Skill with safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Familiarity with documenting care and following care plans
- Ability to monitor and recognize changes in resident condition
- Good interpersonal skills and patience when working with seniors and families
- Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
