Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to residents, promoting dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs, observe changes in condition, and report concerns promptly
• Document care accurately and on time to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, respectful communication

Qualifications

• GNA certification or equivalent (required)
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and any facility-required screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
• Reliable attendance and ability to work the scheduled day shift

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Ability to perform personal care and safe transfer techniques
• Basic clinical skills such as taking vital signs and observing for changes
• Comfortable with electronic or paper documentation systems
• Good time management, teamwork and problem-solving abilities
