Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) to support patient comfort and dignity
• Assist residents with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment
• Take and record vital signs, reporting any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to deliver person-centered care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control policies and safety procedures
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met with dignity

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New Mexico CNA required
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour day shifts (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) on a Monday-Wednesday schedule
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; compassionate, patient-focused approach
• Basic documentation skills and ability to follow care plans and policies
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to pass required background checks and any facility screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of ADLs (activities of daily living) and resident care
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
• Basic vital sign measurement and reporting
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Teamwork and clear communication with clinical staff and families
• Comfort using electronic or paper charting systems for documentation
