Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and compassion
- Monitor and document resident conditions, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
- Provide safe transfer and mobility support, using proper body mechanics
- Perform routine vital sign checks and accurate charting to support care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care and comfort
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- Local candidates only (must be able to commute to Skowhegan, ME)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Comfort working night (3rd) shift and supporting long-term care residents
- Reliable, compassionate, and a team player with good communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and activities of daily living
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Infection prevention and control principles
- Strong observational skills and ability to report changes quickly
- Empathy, patience, and effective communication with residents and families
