Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in the ED
• Quickly assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to protocols
• Perform focused patient assessments and monitor clinical status continuously
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Maintain clear, timely, and accurate documentation (Meditech experience is helpful)
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Support unit safety and quality improvement initiatives and be a reliable team player

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Washington State license or multi-state (compact) license accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certification
• Approved 6-hour suicide prevention training
• Nursys demographic verification
• Experience and knowledge working in an Emergency Department
• Full scheduling availability for the contract period and willingness to pick up extra shifts; RTO must be pre-approved

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency/acute care assessment and triage skills
• Familiarity with trauma care and ED workflows
• Comfortable using Meditech or similar EHRs (helpful but not required)
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and adaptability
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks
• Willingness to support unit staffing needs and flexible shift coverage
