Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn care, keeping safety and compassion front and center
- Monitor fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring (FHM) and escalate concerns promptly
- Start and maintain IVs, manage IV therapy and administer blood/blood products safely
- Circulate and assist during Cesarean deliveries and support post-op recovery
- Perform sterile vaginal exams, IUPC placement/calibration, and other obstetric procedures as needed
- Deliver couplet care and newborn assessments to support family-centered care
- Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to maintain clear patient records
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal teams, and multidisciplinary staff to coordinate care and improve outcomes
- Educate patients and families on labor, postpartum recovery, newborn care and pain management options
Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact accepted by Swedish facilities)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in LDRP, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn care
- Certifications required/strongly preferred: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP (ACLS preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to start IVs, administer blood/blood products, and maintain central lines (CVC/PICC)
- Experience with fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and circulating for C-section
- Solid Epic charting experience
- Comfort working in high-risk antepartum and high-risk L&D settings
- Note: Previous permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from that health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for this travel position
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Relevant certifications (AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP; ACLS preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor & delivery management and triage of obstetrical patients
- Fetal monitoring interpretation and response
- C-section circulation and OR support
- Newborn care and couplet care best practices
- IV therapy, phlebotomy and blood product administration
- PCA and epidural pump management
- Use of IUPC and sterile technique for exams
- Familiarity with isolation precautions/PPE and acute care protocols
- Strong communication, teamwork and patient education skills
