Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, condition changes, and responses to care
- Collaborate closely with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth transitions
- Follow infection control policies and promote a safe environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential — required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (facility may require upon hire)
- Comfort with night-shift responsibilities and reliable attendance, including every-other-weekend coverage
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Facility-oriented mindset: dependable, patient-focused, and detail-minded
Education
- Practical Nursing diploma or certificate (LPN program graduate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Patient assessment and basic clinical care skills
- Familiarity with electronic health records and clear charting
- Infection prevention and safety procedures
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Good interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and clinical teams
