Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care by assessing residents and implementing individualized care plans
- Evaluate and document residents' responses to care and report changes to nursing leadership
- Maintain a safe, clean environment that protects resident safety and dignity
- Supervise and guide nursing assistants and helpers to ensure high-quality care delivery
- Follow facility policies, the State Nurse Practice Act, and applicable JCAHO standards
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Assist with daily living activities while promoting independence and person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active Michigan CNA license (required)
- Minimum 2 years of SNF/LTC and Med/Surg experience (required)
- BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case)
- Comfort working in high-paced, high-stress environments and flexible scheduling availability
- References highly preferred and may be requested during onboarding
Education
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient/resident assessment and monitoring
- Implementation and evaluation of plan of care
- Resident safety and environmental management
- Supervision and delegation to nursing assistants
- Knowledge of State Nurse Practice Act and adherence to JCAHO standards where applicable
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills
- Infection control practices and basic bedside skills
