Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Evening (Shift 2)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Document resident care accurately and timely in facility records
- Encourage social engagement and meaningful interactions to boost resident well-being
- Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Experience caring for older adults preferred; a kind attitude and patience are essential
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by the facility
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and geriatric care principles
- Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, monitoring, and safe resident handling
- Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
- Accurate charting and documentation skills
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to engage residents respectfully
