Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift, specific days not specified)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support safe mobility and transfers, always prioritizing dignity and independence
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to the care team promptly
- Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
- Promote a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Valid state certification/registration as applicable
- Comfort and experience working the night shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach
- Able to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and assistance with ADLs
- Basic clinical observation and reporting
- Accurate charting and documentation practices
- Infection prevention and safe handling techniques
- Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
