Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (day). Includes scheduled float coverage to Winona Manor as needed (typical pattern: 3 days at Starkville, 2 days floating to Winona Manor as scheduled).
Hours per Week: 35
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' physical abilities and limitations using evidence-based assessment techniques
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function and independence
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait training, and manual therapy
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other care team members to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and injury prevention
- Supervise and mentor therapy assistants and support staff to ensure high-quality care
- Participate in facility quality initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist in Mississippi or eligible to obtain Mississippi licensure
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Experience in skilled nursing, inpatient rehab, or outpatient settings is preferred
- Willingness and ability to float between Starkville and nearby facilities as scheduled
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a compassionate patient-centered approach
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
- Gait training, balance and fall prevention strategies
- Manual therapy techniques and functional mobility training
- Skilled documentation and familiarity with EMR systems
- Ability to perform thorough functional assessments and ADL training
- Excellent interpersonal skills and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced rehab setting
