Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping with daily living activities
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team to ensure timely interventions
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and range-of-motion exercises to promote independence
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and communicate clearly during handoffs
• Support a warm, respectful environment that honors dignity and person-centered care

Qualifications

• GNA certification required (Geriatric Nursing Assistant)
• Current state-required certifications and clear background check
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working with older adults and ability to follow care plans
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skill in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Ability to observe, document, and communicate changes in residents' status
• Familiarity with infection control practices and facility protocols
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
