Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, promoting dignity and independence
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Help create a warm, welcoming environment that eases transitions and improves quality of life
- Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification or equivalent in accordance with state requirements
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Clean background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist residents for extended periods during a shift
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved GNA training program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Team-oriented approach and ability to follow care plans
