Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans to help patients reach meaningful communication and swallowing goals
• Provide skilled therapy and adapt interventions to meet each patient’s needs and progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and caregivers to coordinate holistic care
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in the EHR
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing at home

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California (state licensure required for practice)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred but not always required — we welcome clinicians with strong clinical skills
• Experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning abilities with measurable outcomes
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered and compassionate approach

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (MS/MA) or equivalent clinical degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in speech, language, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia assessment and intervention
• Familiarity with AAC strategies and adaptive communication tools
• Experience with clinical documentation and using electronic health records
• Ability to develop functional, evidence-based treatment plans and track outcomes
• Comfortable collaborating with PT/OT, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams
