Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Observe and report changes in physical or emotional condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and positioning to prevent falls and pressure injuries
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent outcomes
• Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or state-recognized Geriatric Nursing Assistant credential
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by the facility
• Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to elder care
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role including lifting and assisting with mobility
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to teamwork and resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, and safe transfer techniques
• Familiarity with long-term care or rehabilitation environments
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety protocols
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care setting
