Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output and general condition observations
- Support mobility and transfer assistance safely using facility protocols
- Communicate changes in resident condition to nursing staff and document care accurately
- Help create a warm, welcoming environment through respectful interaction and companionship
Qualifications
- Current GNA classification/credential (Class: GNA) required
- Prior experience working with geriatric or long-term care residents preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with nurses and care teams
- Ability to pass facility background checks and any required health screening
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- GNA certification/class completion (as indicated by Class: GNA)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic resident care and ADLs
- Familiarity with documentation and reporting of resident status
- Skill in safe resident transfers and mobility support
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with older adults
- Basic infection control and safety awareness
