Location: Lanham, MD
Shift Type: Schedule to be confirmed by facility, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults and support their dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Perform routine vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts or electronic records
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in care planning and follow assigned care tasks to improve resident outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state-recognized nursing aide credential required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Good communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks and workplace health screenings
- Comfortable with physical aspects of the role (assisting with mobility, transferring residents)
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus but enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to apply
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent state-approved training
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of ADLs and basic geriatric care principles
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with basic infection control practices
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills for working with residents and staff
- Basic charting/documentation skills; electronic charting experience is a plus
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs in a busy setting
