Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Observe, report, and document changes in resident condition accurately and promptly to nursing staff
- Support restorative and social activities that enhance residents' quality of life and dignity
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and care plans to protect residents and the care team
- Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care every shift
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable and experienced working with the geriatric population, showing patience, respect, and empathy
- Strong communication skills and reliable documentation practices
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of a GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and basic geriatric care techniques
- Familiarity with basic charting and documentation expectations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
