Shift Type: PRN day shifts — Half-day (4-hour) and full-day (8-hour) options; days vary by assignment (examples from regional openings: Coeur D'Alene: 1 day/week; Mountain Home: 1 day/week; Grangeville: 2 days/week; Moscow: 0.5 day/week; Sandpoint: 0.5 day/week; Idaho Falls (per diem): 1 day/week). Start/end times vary by assignment and are scheduled during daytime hours.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform one-time Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with professionalism and accuracy
- Conduct thorough interview-based examinations to capture medical history and functional impact
- Perform focused physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Complete clear, timely medical documentation and submit examination reports and any required addendums
- Read diagnostic information and integrate findings into medical opinions when appropriate
- Provide objective, non-treatment evaluations consistent with program guidelines
- Participate in required training and credentialing to maintain compliance and quality
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner credential (NP) — state licensure as required for practice
- Clinical background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine — experience with C&P exams is a strong plus
- Ability to perform focused physical assessments (ROM, strength testing) and interview-based exams
- Access to a private office within the required radius for provider-own-office roles, or ability to travel locally to per diem facility shifts
- Able to complete follow-up administrative work (addendums, medical opinions) in a timely manner
- Willingness to complete required training and credentialing prior to seeing Veterans
Education
- Graduate-level nurse practitioner education (MSN or DNP) or equivalent NP preparation as appropriate for licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Compensation & Pension (C&P) exam procedures and standards
- Separation health assessments and non-treatment evaluations
- Clinical interview techniques to elicit accurate history
- Range of motion testing and muscle strength assessment
- Clear medical documentation, report writing, and drafting addendums/medical opinions
- Ability to interpret and incorporate diagnostic information into evaluations
