Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for inmates in a correctional mental health setting
- Deliver individual and group therapy interventions that are evidence-based and trauma-informed
- Develop, implement, and update treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Document clinical encounters clearly and timely, maintaining high standards of compliance and confidentiality
- Consult with custody and healthcare staff to support coordinated care and appropriate referrals
- Contribute to program development and quality improvement efforts within the mental health area
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist (PSY) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California required
- LCSW clinicians are welcome and noted as coverage options for PSYL shifts
- Prior experience in mental health clinical practice; experience in correctional or forensic settings is a strong plus
- Strong clinical assessment, psychotherapy, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD/PsyD) for Psychologist roles, or
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy for LMFT candidates
Knowledge & Skills
- Experienced with diagnostic assessment and treatment planning
- Skilled in individual and group psychotherapy and crisis intervention
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and evidence-based treatment approaches
- Comfortable working in a correctional environment and collaborating with institutional staff
- Excellent clinical documentation and communication skills
