Shift Type: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day) — 3 days per week; orientation may require a Monday start
Hours per Week: 24
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical function and design individualized treatment plans to improve mobility and independence
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions including exercise prescription, manual therapy, and functional training
- Document treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes accurately and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility strategies
- Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and follow facility security protocols for correctional healthcare
Qualifications
- Current California Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure in California
- Active BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Experience in physical therapy practice; prior correctional or institutional experience is a plus
- Ability to pass facility background checks, TB screening, and any required health clearances
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a secure, team-based environment
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physical Therapy required
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of therapeutic interventions, mobility training, and restorative exercise
- Skilled in assessment techniques and development of measurable treatment goals
- Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Ability to adapt treatment approaches to a correctional healthcare setting
- Effective collaboration and patient education skills
