Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 6-hour shift; schedule to be determined (RN - OR-General)

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
Prepare the operating room, instruments, and equipment for cases
Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team
Monitor patient status, document care, and communicate changes promptly
Support efficient case turnover and maintain a calm, organized environment
Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives in the OR

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Arizona RN or compact RN license preferred)
Previous Operating Room experience preferred; perioperative nursing background a plus
Current BLS certification required; ACLS and/or CNOR preferred
Comfortable with surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and intraoperative monitoring
Ability to pass facility background checks and meet health/immunization requirements
Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Aseptic and sterile technique expertise
Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR setup
Patient assessment and intraoperative monitoring
Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Effective communication and teamwork in high-stakes settings
Time management and ability to support efficient case flow
Calm decision-making during urgent situations
