Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate during surgical cases and ensure patient safety and comfort from pre-op through transfer
• Coordinate with the surgical team to prepare and manage instrumentation, supplies, and implants
• Maintain strict sterile technique and uphold OR infection-control standards
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs during orthopedic, endoscopy, and general surgery cases
• Document perioperative care accurately and communicate handoffs clearly
• Act as a patient advocate, ensuring informed consent, positioning safety, and dignity throughout the procedure
• Support efficient turnover between cases to keep the schedule running smoothly

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — current and in good standing (Colorado licensure or compact where applicable)
• Experience as an OR circulator, with strong orthopedic surgery experience required
• Experience or familiarity with endoscopy and general surgery cases is a plus
• Comfort working in a fast-paced perioperative environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to start on the posted contract start date and complete the assignment through the end date

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Proven skills in OR circulation, case setup, and instrument handling
• Understanding of orthopedic surgical workflows and implant systems
• Familiarity with endoscopy and general surgery case needs
• Strong communication, situational awareness, and teamwork skills
