Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Tele and PCU-level nursing care for adults and geriatrics, including post-cath and EP study patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and strips, making timely clinical decisions
• Titrate and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (e.g., amiodarone, cardizem, heparin, nitro, nipride, lasix, low-dose dopamine) safely and per protocol
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity and clear communication
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (MDs, RT, monitor techs, PCAs) to coordinate patient-centered care
• Provide airway support troubleshooting (BiPAP, trach care, high-flow/airvo) and escalate when needed
• Care for patients with pacemakers and post-procedure cardiac catheterization needs with attention to detail
• Float to other areas as needed, helping across PCU, med-surg, and ER holds/boarding when required

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in applicable jurisdiction
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Telemetry or PCU nursing experience preferred
• Comfort and proven ability to read and interpret cardiac strips independently
• Experience with titratable drips and cardiac monitoring required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Willingness to float within the facility and work every-other weekend/holiday as scheduled
• Candidates may not be currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with CommonSpirit-affiliated facilities per radius rule

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BSN not required (employer indicates BSN Required: No)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• PCU/stepdown level nursing skills and clinical judgment
• IV drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Familiarity with EP studies, pacemaker care, and post-cath protocols
• Airway support troubleshooting: BiPAP, tracheostomy care, high-flow devices
• Comfort working with monitor/telemetry systems and collaborating with monitor techs
• Strong EPIC documentation skills and timely charting
• Effective communication and teamwork in acute care settings
