Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult med/surg and telemetry patients using evidence-based practice
• Perform and document IV starts, medication administration, labs, and thorough patient assessments
• Manage respiratory support including CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and non-invasive airway interventions when needed
• Titrate medications safely, including cardiac drips, following unit/heparin protocols
• Serve as a charge-capable night nurse when required, coordinating patient flow and team communication
• Utilize EPIC for timely, accurate documentation and care coordination
• Respond to dysrhythmias and cardiac events with confident monitoring and emergency interventions
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and safe transitions of care

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (clinical bedside nursing)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current IV certification and demonstrated proficiency with IV starts
• Experience using EPIC electronic medical record system
• Comfort with night shift responsibilities and flexibility to work every-other-weekend
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred; charge experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute care nursing and telemetry patient monitoring
• Respiratory support skills (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management)
• Medication titration and familiarity with heparin protocols and PCA management
• Wound care and wound VAC management, feeding tube care (NG/Dobhoff, Kangaroo pump)
• Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) and tracheostomy care
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
• Strong documentation skills in EPIC and effective interdisciplinary communication
