Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric and med/surg patients
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and discharge planning
Monitor patient status, identify changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Educate patients and families with clear, empathetic communication
Support unit efficiency by participating in shift handoffs and unit initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact license as applicable)
Current BLS certification required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Clinical experience or strong interest in medical-surgical nursing and pediatrics
Comfortable with pediatric assessments, medication administration, and family-centered care
Ability to complete required orientation and unit-specific training
Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a patient-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of med/surg nursing principles and pediatric care basics
Proficiency in patient assessment, IV therapy, and safe medication administration
Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond effectively in fast-paced settings
Collaborative mindset for working with physicians, therapists, and support staff
