Shift Type: 3x12 schedule, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, typically three 12-hour shifts per week including some weekends (Full-time)

Roles & Responsibilities

Triage patients quickly and accurately, prioritizing care based on clinical need
Provide direct and indirect emergency nursing care with initiative and professional judgment
Collaborate with ER physicians, mid-level providers, and allied health staff to optimize patient outcomes
Monitor patient status and respond rapidly to changes in condition or treatment response
Lead and direct Emergency Department techs, registration staff, and allied personnel when coordinating patient flow
Document assessments, interventions, and communications clearly and timely in the medical record
Support a culture of teamwork and compassionate patient-centered care while maintaining high safety standards

Qualifications

Current MT State RN license required
Degree from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
BLS and ACLS required; PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
Ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment and perform IV therapy

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program required
Bachelor of Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong emergency department nursing principles and procedures
Triage, patient assessment, and clinical decision-making
IV therapy and related interventions
Basic computer and office skills for documentation and communication
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with variable patient acuity
Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams
