Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists by preparing and labeling medications accurately and efficiently
• Perform technical support functions under pharmacist supervision to keep the pharmacy running smoothly
• Support sterile compounding practices where required, following aseptic technique and safety protocols
• Maintain accurate medication records and assist with inventory management to ensure stock availability
• Follow state regulations and facility policies to protect patient safety and compliance
• Communicate clearly with pharmacists, nursing staff, and other care team members to support optimal medication therapy
• Participate in rotating weekend coverage and help ensure consistent pharmacy services

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license required upon submission
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Certified Pharmacy Technician credential (CPhT) preferred
• Successful completion of a Medical Pharmacy Technician course is preferred
• Pre-employment drug screen required
• Past hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Sterile compounding experience preferred
• Willingness to work rotating schedules including weekends

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Pharmacy Technician course preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication preparation and accurate medication labeling
• Understanding of sterile compounding principles and aseptic technique
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments
• Familiarity with pharmacy workflows and medication safety practices
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Basic inventory management and recordkeeping skills
